Jim Thome Display

There is now a display case in Limestone Community High School dedicated to Jim Thome. Thome is a former Major League Baseball player and LCHS graduate. He graduated in 1988 and went on to play professional baseball until 2012 when he retired. In 2018 he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, one of only 273 players ever to have that honor. After the induction, Thome donated several items to LCHS. These items include a jersey, a pennant, a bat, a ball, a sign that noted some of his accomplishments, and a large banner from the Hall of Fame induction.

Dr. Allan Gresham, LCHS Superintendent, said, “After Mr. Thome donated these to the school we were to think of the best way to display them [and] show our pride and his accomplishments.”

The Jim Thome display is located near the welcome center and between the business office and the snack bar.
