LCHS’s Games Club has received a variety of book and game donations.
A YouTuber named Will, who uses the YouTube username “DnD Shorts,” made a generous donation, which included the unofficial Dungeons and Dragons books “Ryoko’s Guide to the Yokai Realms.”
LCHS Games Club sponsor Mr. Daniel King met Will during August at the in-person event “Gen Con” in Indianapolis. “I’m just super thankful that somebody was willing to reach out and send us all this amazing stuff and send us more stuff than I thought they were gonna send us,” said King.
Games Club president senior Andrew Zeiler said, “I’m just very happy that the donation was made, it was a very good thing and […] I would like to give my utmost respect to the channel that did it, and it is very good stuff.” Zeiler also said, “It gives us the option to have more things for Games. For any aspiring DMs, they can take some of these things that we’ve got and they can use them as inspiration for their own games they’re gonna run or they can just straight up use the setting using the monster sheets. […] It just enables us to have even more games for us to play.”
Additionally, Limestone student Will Ruckle donated numerous board games to Games Club, including Chess, Mustang Monopoly, Chinese Checkers, Yatzee, Word Yatzee, and more. The games were in Will’s grandma’s basement, and she didn’t want them anymore. According to Ruckle, King was very grateful for the donations. Games Club members have already played some of the games.
Games Club meets every Wednesday after school in the cafeteria until 5:15 PM. Every other Wednesday, club members play DnD.
