Ghostbusters Afterlife is best in the line-up because I love the whole Ghostbusters franchise. When the movie came out, I was very excited because this movie was actually connected to the franchise. This movie answered a lot of questions for the Ghostbusters community. One thing that I am sad to see is that the original Ghostbusters is not on the 31 days of Halloween on Freeform. Afterlife was good but the original is just so much better. It has more iconic and famous scenes in the movie compared to the Afterlife. I am happy that a Ghostbusters movie is included in the 31 Days list, but I think it should have been the original. -Grant Kocher
I like Nightmare Before Christmas best because I like how the movie starts and finishes. Nightmare Before Christmas is the best movie and Halloween movie I have ever watched. The story is amazing and nothing like other movies. It is the first claymation movie I ever watched. Nightmare Before Christmas is a tradition for me every time Halloween comes around. The movie is arguably the best movie I have ever seen. It is an interesting combination of romance and horror themes in one. -Ethan Garske
Edward Scissorhands is the best movie on Freeform’s 31 Night of Halloween. Edward has hands made of scissors that were given to him by a scientist who died before he finished creating Scissorhands. Edward is feared by everyone, but he soon becomes liked when he helps others. Edward cuts the trees or bushes people have in the yard and makes them into cool shapes. Edward is welcomed into a nice family, and he has a crush on their daughter. The movie takes a dark turn when he makes a mistake and cuts someone close to him. I think others should watch it on the 31 Nights of Halloween because it is a great Halloween movie to watch with friends. -Carly Heuermann
Halloweentown is a movie that follows a young girl who discovers that she comes from a family of witches. Her grandmother travels to Halloweentown, a magical palace where it is Halloween every day and supernatural creatures live openly. The town is filled with colorful characters like goblins and vampires. Throughout the movie, Marnie, the little girl, learns about her heritage and helps save Halloweentown. I like the movie because of its charm and creativity. It is the perfect blend of magic, adventure, and family fun. The quirky characters and imaginative settings make it a delightful escape into a world of supernatural wonders. Check it out on Freeform. -Shamontae Parkman
Frankenweenie is the best movie on Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween. The movie is about a kid’s dog who passes away after getting hit by a truck while trying to fetch one of its toys. The boy is so devastated by the loss of his pet that he eventually comes back to the dog’s resting place and digs up his body so that he can take it home and bring it back to life by resurrecting the animal using electricity from the storm that was going on that night. I think this is a good movie because it’s quite heart-warming despite the dark undertones. Under odd circumstances, the family is eventually reunited with their dog. It shows how far the family was willing to go to get back a family member they cared a lot about. -London Gulick
Casper is a great movie because it is a childhood movie I have watched many times. Casper is a twelve-year-old boy living in Whipstaff Manor with his father, J.T. McFadden, until Casper died from pneumonia after playing out in the cold until it was past nightfall. Years later, James Harvey, a paranormal expert, and his daughter, Kat, move into an old mansion haunted by ghosts. James’ job is to get them out of it so they can crossover to the other side. After they move in, Kat meets a ghost named Casper, and he falls in love with her. His one wish is to be human again and maybe he can be with her. This is one of my favorite Halloween movies and a great addition to the 31 Nights of Halloween! –Dasyijuan Keys
The original Hocus Pocus begins when young male, Max, and his younger sister move to Salem. As Max tries to fit in, he and his little sister go to a Halloween party. Max’s crush invited Max and his little sister to go to an abandoned cabin and light a black candle. The Sanderson sisters rise and try to catch and kill Max’s sister throughout the movie. Hocus Pocus is a great movie for those who would like a Halloween movie that is more funny than scary.
Hocus Pocus 2 tells the tale of the Sanderson sisters, Winifred, Sarah, and Mary. It begins with one of Winifred’s younger birthdays. Winnie is trying to call off an arranged marriage, so she and her sisters try and hide. They run to the forbidden woods where they meet a witch, and the Sanderson sisters find out that they too are witches. Going forward, Hocus Pocus 2 takes place 29 years after the original movie. It and focuses on a group of kids-two who are close friends while the third one drifts off because of love.
I like the background story of the Sanderson sisters at the beginning, and I absolutely love the ending of this movie. Hocus Pocus 2 had a great meaning at the end. -Hope Baughman
