Costa Rica 2024

Costa+Rica+2024

Summer 2024 will be Limestone’s biannual Costa Rica trip, hosted by Spanish teacher Adrianna Bryan.

Students will engage in many exciting activities while in Costa Rica. Students will visit elementary schools and interact with the students there. They can play soccer with the students and also bring donations for families who can not afford school supplies. According to Bryan, this seemed to be enjoyed the most among the students who went on the trip.

Ziplining was also a highly rated activity. Students who want to are able to zipline in the Cloud Forest. There is also a ton of hiking and sightseeing involved. Students will hike in natural forests and visit the beach.

“I love it all,” Bryan says. “It’s really hard for me to come back.”

Bryan likes to offer this trip for students to take a chance and travel outside of the United States. They will experience different cultures, see new places, and try new things. “Learning a foreign language is a great experience in a classroom, but when you go to another country it’s a totally different experience,” said Bryan.   She believes this experience builds confidence in those who are afraid to try something new and helps them understand they can do anything they set their minds to.

Derek Furniss went on the 2022 Costa Rica trip. He enjoyed playing soccer on the beach and hanging out with his friends. Furniss took this trip for the new experiences and knowledge.  “I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who is at all interested!” said Furniss.

Bryan has had as many as 14 students, including parents, visit Costa Rica with her. She held an informational meeting on September 19th, but those interested in learning more can talk to her in Room 206 for additional information.
