Limelight staff members test-tasted some bottom-of-the-bag candy, to see what is the best of the worst. Each candy was assigned a letter grade which was an overall average of the class. The staff voted Smarties the best of the worst and Cow Tails as the absolute worst Halloween candy.

Shamontae Parkman – They are sweet and powdery and hard but not too hard, it reminds me of Sweet Tarts. B
Carly Heuerman – They aren’t bad, but not my first choice. C
Dasyijuan Keys – Smaller and less sour Sweet Tarts. B
Kyle Stearns – So it’s candy…not the greatest, and not the worst. B
Maliha Rebatzke – Too sweet and powdery. C
Ethan Garske – I have loved these since 4th grade – nostalgia! A
Candy: Tootsie Rolls

Dasyijuan Keys – They are the best of the bottom bag candy. B
Hope Baughman – Not a huge fan of chocolate. A bit too chewy. C
Maliha Rebatzke – Chewy and not a strong chocolate flavor. B
Grant Kocher – The Tootsie Rolls are very underrated. I would recommend these to people who like a chewy chocolate. A
Ethan Garske – Tootsie Rolls are my least favorite candy and deserve to be in the trash. F

Grant Kocher – I love these, but I would not recommend these to people with braces because these are very chewy and get stuck in your teeth. A

Hope Baughman – These are very chewy and do not have much taste. They stick to teeth. D

Shamontae Parkman – It tastes like pennies and the inside is like frosting, but it’s disgusting. The caramel is sticky. F

Hope Baughman – The caramel isn’t too chewy, and the frosting filling tones down the caramel taste. It does have a chalky aftertaste. A
Maliha Rebatzke – Nasty, taste like a balloon F

Grant Kocher – I actually was a hater and these were actually good. This candy has caramel, but it has more of a cream flavor. B
