On Sepetember 25th, 80s icons Loverboy and Foreigner rocked the Peoria Civic Center.
Loverboy is a Canadian rock band from Calgary, Alberta, whose hit songs “Turn Me Loose” and “Working for the Weekend”. They have had other great songs since 1979. Foreigner is a British-American rock band formed in New York City in 1976 with hit songs such as “Juke Box Hero” and “Hot Blooded”. Unfortunately, no band member is an ‘original’ band member as there have been several spots filled over the years.
The show was great. Loverboy sounded awesome! Even though I never really listened to them, I liked the performance. Unfortunately with the band aging, the songs were played slower. I heard from other people and the songs I recognized were definitely at a slower pace, but as an opener they did amazing. There was no particular part that I had liked or disliked most, it was a well-rounded performance.
The Loverboy setlist included:
-
Notorious
-
Lucky Ones
-
Queen of the Broken Hearts
-
Take Me to the Top
-
The Kid Is Hot Tonite
-
Almost Paradise(Eric Carmen cover) ((Footloose))
-
When It’s Over
-
Hot Girls in Love
-
Turn Me Loose
-
Working for the Weekend
-
Lovin’ Every Minute of It
-
Jump
Foreigner sounded great, especially with the vocalist only being with the band for 20 years. The set was filled with their best songs, and they stretched out Juke Box Hero to a 10-minute song. The keyboard and drum solo felt the same way; the keyboard solo even became techno and brought the crowd in for it.
The Foreigner setlist included:
-
Double Vision
-
Head Games
-
Cold as Ice
-
Waiting for a Girl Like You
-
Dirty White Boy
-
Feels Like the First Time
-
Urgent
-
Keyboard and Drum Solo
-
Juke Box Hero
- Encore:
- Long, Long Way From Home
-
I Want to Know What Love Is
-
Hot Blooded
Overall, it was one of the best shows I have ever seen and it’s sad how there will be no more Foreigner tours after as this was their Farewell Tour. My favorite part of the performance was when the lead singer Kelly Hansen was talking to the crowd because he had some pretty funny things to say. I loved it!
If you have the chance to see this show I would extremely recommend it!
