Coach Rob Fitch of the girls’ soccer team won his one-hundredth match against Olympia. Although the Saturday before Fitch’s team tied 1-1 that could have been the 100th win. The win was an exciting match with Limestone dominating possession but unable to score until the last 30 seconds, when one player took a shot on goal that got touched by a handball which gained Limestone a penalty kick. Bella Sims took the penalty kick and scored winning the match.

Fitch explained, “It was a long time coming, I started coaching in the 2006 season.  That was the year my daughter was born, and now she’s a sophomore on the team.  It was a nice moment to share.” He emphasized how this wasn’t just an achievement for him, but a result of all of the hard work and dedication of his players over the years.

Fitch began coaching the 2005-2006 Girls’ soccer season and has since. Additionally, he coached speech and boys JV soccer since 2005-2006 and began coaching varsity five years ago. This milestone is an impressive feat of dedication to coaching and helping his players.
