Senior Kolby Tom has earned the Boy Scout Eagle Scout Award.   Earning this accomplishment required a lot of time and dedication.

To earn an Eagle Scout award, a scout must create an Eagle Scout project. This project allows for scouts to demonstrate their leadership and commitment to making a difference in their community. For Tom’s project, he chose to put new mulch in his church’s playground. This church holds a very special place in his heart and he saw his project as a chance to express how much he loves his church. He states that he faced a few hardships along the way but the project ended up being a success.

Tom describes being a scout as an opportunity to learn new and interesting things, earn merit badges, have fun, and make so many new memories. When reminiscing about his years as a scout, Tom stated that one of his fondest memories had to be when he and the other scouts sold tickets for the annual chicken noodle dinner in hopes of raising money for Limestone.

“Keep at it. Keep trying to do it. Put in the hard work and effort,” Tom advised anyone who’s trying to earn their Eagle Scout Award.
