Limestone has begun its construction project funded by the 2021 tax referendum.

Dr. Gresham recently shared information on the upcoming projects, “We have four major projects that will be taking place over the next two years. There will be Renovation and addition to the Band and Choral room and will be finished by the start of next school year (2022-2023). Air conditioning will be added to the school and is estimated to finish at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year. There will be new roofing applied to about half of our building. And finally, a new heating system for about two-thirds of our building will be in progress and estimated to finish for the 2022-2023 school year,” Gresham said.

Gresham further states, “Inconveniences from the construction could include limited parking spaces in south student parking, Main Gym usage will be drastically limited for summer 2022 activities.  Summer band activities will need to be adapted and adjusted to avoid construction areas this summer.”

The HVAC project has begun.  “Heat in the building will be shut off as of April 18, 2022, which may cause cool classrooms for a couple of weeks,” cautioned Gresham.

When students arrive back to school in August, the building may not look as clean and organized as it usually does, and contractors will be working right up to the start of the school year not allowing our custodial crew to do the level of cleaning prep we typically do for the start of school.”

Gresham hopes construction goes well and that the students of LCHS understand the inconveniences that go along with it.
