Limestone’s chess team competed at the IHSA State Chess Tournament on February 13th and 14th. The team won two games of the bracket.
Chess coach Connie Stromberger explained, “The team broke the school record for the number of individual points scored at the state tournament.”
Senior William Hurst was selected to sing the national anthem at the start of the competition.
Senior Ashton Ayler placed 10th in his regular season and outperformed 104 competing players. Ayler earned a medal for his efforts.
