Limestone High School welcomed three new teachers to the staff this fall: Ms. Cayce Frietsch, Mrs. Whitney Heflin, and Mr. Cody Wirth.
Frietsch has been teaching special education for 16 years. She has taught at District 150, in Tazewell County, and for SEAPCo. Her experience with Limestone students and staff has been very welcoming and friendly. She loves how the community gets involved and all of the activities here at Limestone. The teachers have helped her by answering questions and offering a smile every day. Frietsch is the freshman class sponsor. She is very excited for Easterseals and the food fair.

Heflin has been teaching special education for 14 years. She taught junior high at Oak Grove for 10 years and also worked at Elmwood for 3 years. Her experience with Limestone students and staff has made her feel great about being welcomed into the community. She enjoys being part of the community, teaching in a district with inclusive schools, and being positive about the way people act and introduce themselves as a person. As an alum, Heflin loves being “back home” and seeing how her coworkers communicate with each other and support one another. Her goals for her first year at LCHS include getting to know how everything works and being able to help staff members. Heflin is sponsoring Key Club. She says it’s a perfect opportunity for everyone to get involved. Heflin advises students to “Participate in things; make all the high school memories possible.”

Wirth has been teaching Spanish for six years. Before LCHS, Wirth taught at Illini Bluffs. His experience with students and staff here have been positive. Everyone has been very welcoming. His goals for his first year here include being part of the Spanish department, getting to know staff and students, and collaborating with others. Wirth enjoys the size of LCHS and talking to his colleagues. Wirth is excited to see the fall play because he directed plays for four years at Illini Bluffs. He is also looking forward to the Madrigal dinner.
