The Limestone volleyball team finished their incredible season as the IHSA 3A State Runner-Ups.
The team fought a hard 3-set battle against Mahomet Seymour the scores were 25-22, 22-25 and 18-25. It was the volleyball team’s first state appearance in program history.
Head Coach Shelly Stoner said, “It’s just a great thing for our program, school, and community.”
The team made conference history. Not only was it the program’s first state appearance, but they were also the first Mid-Illini conference team to have a state appearance. “ This shows the hard work, extra hours, accountability, and teamwork they all had to make this happen! This state run is a story the girls have written and no one can take that away from them!” Stoner shared.
Libero Khloe Stear was named to the Illinois Volleyball Coaches’ Association’s 1st team All-State.
During the run to state, Coach Stoner collected her 300th career win during this postseason. Stoner said, ”It’s not about the wins and losses, it’s the journey that we just experienced together.”
