On September 10th, the Rockets traveled to East Peoria for a unified volleyball match. The game ended in a tie for both teams.
Unified volleyball coach Stacey Seals was really happy with how both unified teams played. Seals was very pleased with how East Peoria treated the students. Seals, Abby Tyra, and Shelly Stoner coach unified sports.
Students playing unified volleyball follow a modified set of rules. The main difference is the ball, which is larger, bouncier, and more light-weight. The ball can bounce once before being hit.
Participating in unified activities is a highlight for many LCHS students. Senior unified buddy Paige Inman enjoys, “giving the kids an opportunity to see the world of sports and have fun with something they might not be able to experience outside of what Limestone Unified offers,” she explained.
