Several members from Limestone’s Key Club, a service organization that helps the community however they can, attended the annual Illionis-Eastern Iowa Convention in Springfield earlier this month.
At convention, the students attended workshops and networked with other Club members from all over the state. “The kids really enjoyed the convention, many of our incoming officers have tons of ideas they wanna try out” said co-adviser Jennifer Campbell.
Limestone’s Club members were presented with awards at every grade level during a ceremony. LCHS also won awards for best poster and T-shirt design.
“It was really positive and the feedback we got this year was amazing. Everyone is really excited to see where the program takes them,” said Campbell.
The LCHS club’s service projects have included: setting up for Christmas in the park, making cards for senior citizens, selling cookie dough for fundraisers, and filling and hiding Easter eggs for families as part of a fundraiser. The group has also served at madrigal, And All That Jazz…, and the annual Kiwanis Scholars banquet.
